Blue Apron Review

I have a confession to make. Over the past year, I slowly have been finding meal planning to be an activity of stress and dread. It wasn't so much the act of cooking, because I love that! It was more the details, recipes, lists, food preferences and then the catering to my daughter’s severe egg allergy made it a difficult time for me. Not to mention going to the grocery store with two pre-schoolers would be an exercise of patience (and being honest here…) and circus orchestration. Over the past year I unconciously gave up on it and when my husband would come home asking an innocent question of “What is for dinner? How can I help?” I would want to run and bury my head in my pillow. “I DO NOT KNOW”.

Something had to change! I did not like feeling that sense of overwhelm when it came to feeding my family. I love family dinners and I knew something needed to shift.

After hearing about Blue Apron numerous times, I decided it was time to give it a try.

I decided to go with the service that delivered with 4 ready to prepare meals delivered once a week and with enough portions to each feed four people. All of the ingredients are organic, farm fresh, chef-inspired and pre-portioned. For someone like me… this is exactly what I needed. It’s not that I don’t like cooking, it was all of the hoopla before it that made it difficult.

The recipe cards are easy to follow and the recipes themselves are delicious. Nothing  has been to difficult to cook and I love having so many fresh herbs and vegetables pre-portioned ready to prepare. Everything that you need to prepare the recipes are in the box except for the olive oil.

Ordering Blue Apron has truly has made meal time a time to bond, connect and love on one another rather than stress, have short fuses and complicated experiences preparing dinner.

I am so glad to be able to relax and enjoy cooking a meal for my family that I know is healthy and delicious. Blue Apron has afforded me that opportunity and I can't imagine not using it!

If you want to try it yourself head on over to and see what is on the menu this week!
